Breakfast, Lunch and Dessert
In this NEW! course we will be making a wide variety of foods, starting with breakfast, moving on to lunch and ending with dessert. Everything is Made from Scratch. Students who enjoy cooking and baking will enjoy this course: Create Your Own Breakfast Quiche Cups, Homemade Twix Candy Bars, Made from Scratch Bread, Handmade Lasagna Roll Ups, and Gingerbread Cookies.
Kids in the Kitchen courses are designed specifically for kids. Each course has been fine tuned, over the past eight years, to meet the specific learning styles and taste profiles of kids. Class sizes are kept to a strict limit of no more than fourteen students per class, with students working in pairs of two, in each kitchen area. Limiting class size and keeping team sizes to two students, maximizes hands-on learning and ensures that each student actively participates in the food they create. Each day there are no less than four instructors to assist in student learning. Instructors are sensitive to student's needs, including the needs of specialized learners. Parents are encouraged to contact the instructor prior to the start of class if additional accommodations can be made. each day is brimming with hands on activity. Students begin their day by watching the food expert of the day demonstrating the day's project. Students then move on to preparing the foods themselves, in their kitchen area. There is time to sample the foods they make and to discuss what they learned each day, as well as what techniques were difficult to master. Students have plenty of food left, after sampling, to bring home to share with their families. All students, at the completion of each course, feel a great sense of pride and accomplishment!
