Knowing Your Muslim Neighbors - Part 1

Adult Classes and Activities / Gain Skills -
Fall 2022

Who are Muslims and what are their core beliefs? Understand Islam's 6 Articles of Belief and 5 Pillars of Faith including Shahadah (declaration of faith), Salat (daily prayers), Zakat (Obligatory Poor due), Sawm (fasting) and Hajj (pilgrimage). How does this belief system guide the day-to-day lifestyle of a Muslim? What are the similarities and differences compared to American Culture? Hear how a lack of knowledge about these beliefs is sometimes misrepresented by western media as well as extremists in the Muslim world and western world. Class is designed to be educational and allow for open dialogue and Q & A. We will provide a light dinner for attendees. The food will include a sandwich, an appetizer/desert, and water bottle. There will be veg or non-veg option for the sandwich. Before attending the class, please fill out this survey and let us know which questions you want us to address in the class: https://tinyurl.com/yyse3fgo
