Season Final District Chess Club Tournament
Youth Classes and Activities / STEM -
Spring 2023
Elementary and secondary chess players are invited to participate in the "District Open Chess Final". Whether you participated in a chess club or not in the fall, winter, or spring, you are invited to compete in this short, fun tournament where you can play students from other schools.
- Time controls will be used when necessary to keep the tournament within time constraints.
- The format and recognitions will be based on the number of registered participants in each grade level and school.
- Anticipated sections will be Secondary 6th-12th, Invitational Elementary (Top Club Players), Open Elementary K-1st & 2nd-5th.
- Pre-registration is encouraged, but walk-ins will be accepted.
- Tournament etiquette and procedures will be explained at the event for players new to tournament play.
- Players are not eliminated. Everyone plays in each round unless there is a bye because of an odd number of participants. Typically there are 4-5 rounds.
- Check-in will be 30 minutes before the posted start time.
A great way to end the chess season!
