  • Cottage Grove Elementary - After School Spring Sports

    A chance for kids to learn some basic fundamental skills in a sport, have fun and also meet new friends! This program is offered to boys and girls in grades 3-5 and runs for six sessions for three weeks (2 days per week). Activities will include kid pitch, brannboll, cornhole, and rec games.     There’s no better way to get a jump in spring than with our fun Young Rembrandts cartoon class. Your student will be exposed to the excitement of drawing and animating dinosaur expressions and funny anime characters. These drawings will delight our students as they learn how to draw dynamic figures and action-filled scenes. Your funny bone will be tickled when you see the humorous, floral-inspired personas created in our flower characters lesson.   • Final District Chess Tournament

    Elementary and secondary chess players are invited to participate in the ISD 833 District Open Final. Time controls will be used when necessary to keep the tournament within time constraints. The format and recognitions will be based on the number of registered participants in each grade level and school. Pre-registration is encouraged, but walk-ins will be accepted. Those arriving after the posted start time may need to sit-out of the first round of play. Tournament etiquette and procedures will be explained at the event for players new to tournament play. Players are not eliminated. Everyone plays in each round unless there is a bye because of an odd number of participants. Typically there are 4–5 rounds. Check-in will be 30 minutes before the posted start time. Supervision will be provided. Parents/guardians are allowed to stay, but are asked to wait outside of the playing area during matches.

  • Serenity Farm Horse Camp

    Offered for kids ages 6-12, Spark Equestrian’s day camps at Serenity Farm teach kids the basics of horse care, grooming, and riding. Kids should provide their own lunch and wear long pants with close-toed shoes. It is recommended to dress in multiple layers as we will be both inside and outside. Drop off is at 9 AM and pick up is at 2 PM. We will provide the rest! Please be sure to fill out and bring the waiver form and bring it to camp.

    DASH Sports No School Multi-Sport Camp Grade K - 5 Multi-Sport (Non-School Day): Looking for a fun non-school day filled with fun sports activities? This Multi-Sport camp includes fun skills training and games in three sports: Soccer, Basketball, and Flag Football. Athletes will spend roughly 1.5 hours on each sport, performing fun, instructor-led skill-based activities and games. Also included in the daily activities will be other fun games such as Kickball, Capture the Flag, Wiffle Ball, Dodgeball, and more. Athletes should bring two snacks, a lunch, and a water bottle.     This camp will emphasize respect for others and will teach children manners and etiquette with a fun, hands-on approach. Your child will learn social etiquette, proper introductions and fine dining skills.   • Code Championship Tournament Series | Virtual Computer Coding Competition

    Build a computer bot to play head-to-head against other coders! Whether this is your first Code Championship event, or if you've been competing for years, this is the perfect way to explore the competitive coding world of Code Championship. No previous coding experience necessary. The Code Championship Series is a series of four tournaments in four weeks (it's ok to miss one or two). These tournaments will be hosted online using Google Meet and the Code Championship website. If you have a modern browser like Chrome or Firefox, no additional download is required. Please come knowing how to navigate the internet (basic typing and mouse control). The link to the Google Meet event will be emailed two days before the tournament.     Let your little artist explore the messier side of art in this hands-on class. Your child will enjoy many super-duper messy experiences as they create fantastic works of art. They will paint, sculpt, scribble, and giggle their way to discovering mess making at its best. These are not projects to tackle at home.     A parent-child paint date is a fun and creative activity that allows parents and children to bond while exploring their artistic side together. In this type of class, parents and children work together to create a painting. The class is designed to be interactive and engaging, with the instructor providing step-by-step guidance on painting techniques and offering tips and tricks for parents and children to create a cohesive and beautiful painting. Each individual will work on a different side of a canvas at the same time with a partner. When the two sides join at the end of class, you will have one complete artwork.     With a little help, kids can build strong, healthy bodies and minds through play at Miss Laura's Little Athletes Gym Class. Children and caregivers will engage in music, movement, and play activities that promote early childhood developmental skills. March in the band, run with superhero capes, listen and learn songs with puppets and props, explore hula hoops, parachute, and so much more. Winter classes are held indoors, and warm weather classes are held outdoors. It is a high-energy class that encourages a lifelong habit of fitness. Kids with the wiggles are welcome here!   • Creative Sewing

    Nena will teach students how to sew, including basic sewing techniques, knowledge of sewing tools and different kinds of stitches. Students will practice sewing with a sewing machine. They will create a sketch of garments and sew a project of their own creation. Studio lessons are scheduled monthly and students can work at their own pace and create new projects each month. Nena's Atelier has been offering custom made garments and alterations for the last 10 years. She has recently opened a new gorgeous studio facility in Oakdale for lessons.

    Rowen and Daniel are high school students who are in the Spanish Immersion program. As part of their final capstone project, they are excited to teach younger immersion students about hispanic culture. Join them and learn about the cultures as they show you slides, teach some games and give you an opportunity learn about the different foods. Each week they will be talking about a different culture.     CHEM Athletics - Character, Hand, Eye, Mind Camp for Beginner and Intermediate Tennis

    CHEM Athletics provides tennis lessons that increase hand-eye coordination while placing an emphasis on character development. Family Day will be the last day of class. Weekly awards will also be given each week. Coach Scott is an ex-tennis professional who played at the highest level of the sport. CHEM stands for Character, Hand, Eye and Mind Youth learn the STARS concept which stands for Safety, Teamwork, Attitude, Responsibility and Sportsmanship.
