Enjoy imaginative floral interpretations of selected works of art from MIA's permanent collection, created by more than 100 commercial florists and individual artists. Guests are invited to experience the floral fragrance throughout the museum. Browse floral-inspired merchandise in the Art in Bloom Pop-up Shop. This is a self guided walking tour experience. Wear comfortable shoes.
MIA’s permanent collection has grown from 800 works of art to more than 89,000 objects. The collection includes world-famous works that embody the highest levels of artistic achievement, our objects span from about 20,000 BCE and representing the world’s diverse cultures across six continents. The museum has seven curatorial areas: Arts of Africa & the Americas; Contemporary Art; Decorative Arts, Textiles & Sculpture; Asian Art; Paintings; Photography and New Media; and Prints and Drawings.
After we leave MIA, we will have lunch at the Hen House Eatery in Minneapolis. Menu: A cup of soup made from scratch daily, a Chicken Salad Sandwich, beverage and cookie. Fee includes transportation, lunch, lunch tax & tip and admission to MIA.
Plan to board the luxury motor coach at the District Program Center in Cottage Grove at 9:00 a.m. for departure by 9:15 a.m. Bus returns by approx. 3:00 p.m. Registration deadline is Friday, March 14. (Note: Baggage Bays in the Motor Coach can accommodate Walkers, Canes and Collapsible Wheelchairs. All are welcome! If you use a wheelchair and assistance is needed, please also have a friend register for this event who can assist.)
