Welcome spring by joining the CNC staff in making maple syrup. Hike to the “sugarbush” to learn about the structure and function of trees, tap maple trees, watch the process of turning sap into syrup, and sample the final product. The program starts indoors, but be ready for spring snow and mud over about 1 mile of paved and unpaved trails.
Sarah Germscheid is Carpenter Nature Center’s Director of Education and Visitor Services and has been with CNC since January 2023. After getting her start in environmental education as an intern at CNC back in the summer of 2014, Sarah has worked at Dakota County Parks, Eastman Nature Center and has been a preschool teacher at a private preschool. Sarah grew up in west central WI on a dairy farm and loves sharing her passion for nature through outdoor recreation experiences.
