    Join us for this hybrid class that combines 30 minutes of Zumba® Fitness followed by 30 minutes of Zumba Toning. It features dance-fitness movements inspired by Latin, international and pop/hip hop music meant to get your heart rate up and warm up your muscles. Then, Zumba Toning incorporates weighted toning sticks or light hand weights (no more than 3lbs each)to your Zumba workout. They function like dumbbells and act as resistance weights to help you tone and sculpt your muscles. Note: You must provide your own weights/toning sticks for class

  • Abrakadoodle Adventures in Art

    Sample lots of different kinds of art in this fun and creative camp. We’ll use paper mâché, clay, canvas, chalk, paint and more to create some fabulous art. Make a colorful paper mâché donut, sculpt some silly snails, learn how to make prints with your own print plate, paint a canvas, and more. Register early, this camp is sure to fill quickly

  • Adult 50+ Monthly Birthday Bash

    We want to celebrate our members' birthdays! Come and enjoy a low cost lunch while celebrating all the members with birthdays for that month. Lunch will vary. If it is your birthday that month you'll get free admission. We encourage our birthday members to bring a fun item for "show and tell". We will have a time to share a story, photo, keepsake item or something fun about yourself. Registration is required so we get enough food. Registration will close one week prior to the birthday bash celebration. A Birthday Bash meal is FREE for Center Members celebrating a birthday during the month. You must call or register online to reserve your birthday meal. Non-birthday-month members pay $10. Non-members pay $12.

Our Adults 50+ programming is designed to meet the social, educational, health and human service needs of people 50 and over. Join us for an exciting lineup of weekly activities. Whether you're interested in Bingo, Bunco, 500, Farkle, Lighten Up, Mah Jongg, Book Club, Mexican Train Dominoes, Hand & Foot or one of our support groups such as our Diabetes Support Group, your membership allows you to attend as much as you want ... all at no cost. Membership is only $15/year! That means it's just 32 cents per week or 7 cents per day to participate! And if the $15 is still a hardship, let us know. No one will be turned away due to finances.     This course for ages 8-14 who have progressed to the Advanced or Swimmer course. Participant must be able to swim Front Crawl and Back stroke 50 yards, Elementary Backstroke and Sidestroke 25 yards, and Breaststroke 15 yards. Must be able to tread water 1 minute 30 seconds.   • Advantage ACT Prep Course Summer

    www.AdvantagePrep.net For the past 26 years, Advantage Educational Programs has benefited thousands of students in Minnesota by preparing them for the college entrance exams.Beginning soon, the Advantage will once again present its ACT Preparatory Course in more than forty high schools in Minneapolis/St. Paul and the surrounding area. These courses are designed for students who wish to improve their test-taking skills and improve their overall scores on the college entrance exams. Since 1988, on average, students who finish the course increase their scores significantly on the ACT (36 pt. total). The Advantage will provide an introduction to the ACT format with strategies for answering questions, as well as instruction for the specific subject areas tested. Focal points of the program include diagnostic testing, vocabulary development, intensive mathematical review, reading comprehension improvement, science reasoning, concentration improvement, overcoming test anxiety, essay writing, and time management.     Afton Apple Orchard Tour Event #: FT1 When: Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 9:45 am Cost: $15 per person (includes transportation and ticket) Age: All Ages Deadline to Register: September 23, 2024 Join ECFE as we take a tour of the Afton Apple Orchard. Children and parents will experience a hayride to the orchard and learn about how apples grow. Children will be able to experience apple picking and sample apple cider. There is a very large playground and a petting farm for children to enjoy after the tour. Everyone must have a ticket and an adult must accompany a child. Bus departs from the District Program Center (DPC) at 9:45 am Bus returns to the District Program Center (DPC) at 1:00 pm

We are passionate about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math and want to instill this in your child too. Fostering their natural curiosity, kids, working in pairs, will explore logic, pattern recognition, and math concepts as they are challenged to build increasingly sophisticated designs. As they do so, they’ll also develop basic programming techniques using custom-made programming blocks in PCs.     Babies, Babies, Babies (DP, LR)

    Babies, Babies, Babies - Non-Separating Classes By the time your baby is 3 months old, they have made a dramatic transformation from a totally dependent newborn to an active and responsive infant. In this class you will connect with other families with babies from 3-12 months. You will be able to participate in activities that support your baby's development, ask questions, and share ideas on feeding, sleeping and so much more. Share the joy of experiencing milestones as your babies grow together throughout this full semester class. Parents and children do not separate for this class.     Taught by a certified instructor, this course offers leadership, safety, basic care, and the business of babysitting, first aid for breathing and bleeding emergencies. This course is a must for novice and experienced babysitters. Students must attend all 6 hours of instruction. Class is open to both boys and girls. Cost includes handbook. Minimum age is 10.5 years.
  • Bayfield & Apostle Island, Wisconsin - Adult Overnight Trip

    September 24-26, 2024 This three day motor coach tour is $785 per person (2 per room) or $970 per person (1 per room). Travel with Community Education as we head to one of the most beautiful places around! You'll enjoy a narrated Apostle Island cruise, a tour of Madeline island and a stop at Bayfield Winery. You'll also be treated to a special Victorian luncheon at the Old Rittenhouse Inn in Bayfield. Enjoy the rich history and extraordinary natural scenery on majestic Lake Superior. Trip includes deluxe motor coach transportation, lodging for 2 nights, meals (two breakfasts, three lunches and two dinners) and tickets for the attractions. A $125 per person deposit is due by Friday, August 2, 2024. Final payment is due Friday, August 16, 2024. Payments are not refundable after deadline. Plan to board the bus on Tuesday, Sept. 24th at 6:30 a.m. for a 6:45 a.m. departure from the District Program Center, 8400 E. Point Douglas Rd. So., Cottage Grove. Bus is estimated to return early evening on Thursday, September 26.

    Beginner 1

    This class is for children graduating from our Intro to Beginner 1 class. New students to the program are age 6-10 and are not swimming independently on the surface of the water. Supported floats, glides, and beginning front and back stroke work is covered. Safety practices and becoming comfortable in the water is emphasized. Children age 4-5 must have received indication from their previous class that they qualified to register for this class. If your child is underage and you need to register for this class please call 425-6600 to make arrangements. Registration due 1 week in advance.     Beginner 2

    This class is for children graduating from the Beginner 1 class. New students to our program must be able to float on their front with their face in the water, float on their back with ears in the water, and swim a very basic stroke on front and back with forward motion. Those children age 4-5 that have received approval to register for this class need to call 425-6600 for class access. Registration is due 1 week in advance of class start.     Beginner 3

    This class is for ages 7-12 who have progressed from our Beginner 2 course, or who are swimming independently on front with arms out of water and using breath control for 5 body lengths. Child can also float on back for 15 seconds, swim on back for 5 body lengths, and is comfortable anywhere in the pool. Children advanced for their age must have received a progress card indicating they should move onto the next level. Please call 425-6600 to arrange registration adjustment.   • College Bootcamp

    Unlock your college dreams with College Bootcamp! In this bootcamp, students will complete 2-3 career assessments and college preference exercises to begin building their college list. They will become a pro at navigating the Common Application and work to complete most sections. They will develop their activities/experiences list, begin the letter of recommendation process, and brainstorm topics for college essays. Students will learn about financial aid, scholarships, and how to best engage with colleges to demonstrate their interest. Students will also receive a guidebook, a list of student and parent resources, and 1:1 planning session with an individualized checklist of remaining college application requirements. Sarah Hager, M.Ed, is a seasoned educator with a passion for teaching, specializing in guiding high school juniors and seniors through the maze of college prep.
  • Colorful Cubes: A Summer of Solving

    This course is for all skill levels. Learn the basics of the Rubik's Cube mastering one layer at a time or elevate your cubing with speed solving techniques! Design and create cube mosaics, explore bluetooth and electronic cubes, discover a variety of twisty puzzles, assemble a cube solving robot, and compete for prizes! Cubes and detailed instructions are yours to keep!
  • Creative Sewing

    Nena will teach students how to sew, including basic sewing techniques, knowledge of sewing tools and different kinds of stitches. Students will practice sewing with a sewing machine. They will create a sketch of garments and sew a project of their own creation. Studio lessons are scheduled monthly and students can work at their own pace and create new projects each month. Nena's Atelier has been offering custom made garments and alterations for the last 10 years. She has recently opened a new gorgeous studio facility in Oakdale for lessons.
