    Boat America 2024

    Learn the fundamentals of boating from the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. The Boat America course curriculum is a boating certificate class that offers an in-depth and interesting boating safety course, and provides the knowledge needed to obtain a MN or WI boating certificate. Some insurance companies will also offer discounts on boating insurance to boaters who successfully complete this course. TOPICS INCLUDE Introduction to Boating – Types of power boats, boating vocabulary, sailboats, paddle boats, powering boats, and engine types. Boating Law – Boat registration, regulations, hull identification numbers, required safety equipment, Federal boating law, state boating law, and reporting accidents. Safety Equipment – Life jackets, fire extinguishers, sound-producing devices, visual distress signals, anchors, and other safety equipment. Boat Handling and Navigation – Buoys and beacons, aids to navigation, navigation rules, docking, and the dangers of alcohol on the water. Boating Emergencies – Hypothermia, boating accidents, man overboard, capsizing, emergency radio calls, carbon monoxide dangers, and weather. Trailering – Types of trailers, lights, hitches, towing a trailer. Sports and Boating – Water-skiing, hunting and hunting gear, PWC operation, and other boating tips. Families are encouraged to attend together
  • Spanish Summer Camp: ¡Vamos a Imaginar! “Let’s imagine!”

    In this thrilling summer camp, students will use their imagination and learn Spanish vocabulary related to their favorite themes~ superheroes, princesses, magic, dinosaurs, mermaids, unicorns, and more! Each class students will explore age-appropriate adventures– All in Spanish! Basic conversation and Spanish vocabulary such as colors and counting will be incorporated to build on their skills each week. Class will include interactive activities learning Spanish vocabulary and practical conversation elements. Join us on a magical adventure! Appropriate for incoming students in Grades 1st- 5th with any level of Spanish experience
  • Intensive Etiquette Camp

    This camp will emphasize respect for others and will teach children manners and etiquette with a fun, hands-on approach. Your child will learn social etiquette, proper introductions and fine dining skills. Topics to be covered will include: proper behavior at the table, conversation skills, polite behavior in public, and public speaking. Lunch demo last day of camp.
  • College Application Bootcamp

    In this bootcamp students will complete 2-3 career assessments & personal college qualities/characteristics exercises to begin building a college list. They will receive a 1:1 planning session and become a pro at navigating the Common Application and work to complete most sections. They will develop their own activities and experiences list and begin the letter of recommendation process. We will also brainstorm topics for college essays and learn how to best engage with colleges and universities to demonstrate their interest. Students will also receive a list of resources to refer back to.and an individualized check list with remaining college application requirements. Sarah Hager, M.Ed is a lifelong educator who is organized, disciplined and results-oriented. She has strong relationship building skills to aid academic and personal growth and comprehensive experience in collaborating with and technically educating individuals.

Join peers your age in a fun interactive small group experience where we will dive into social skills, coping strategies, and courageous conversations.     It's all magical, a Unicorn Cake to take home. Each student will use two 6-inch cakes to assemble and decorate a unicorn cake. We will be using buttercream icing and fondant to decorate this beauty.
  • Pasta, Pad Thai and More!

    In this hands-on cooking class, you'll learn the time-honored art of creating pasta, eggrolls, and samosas from scratch. Mimi will teach you how to throw together the perfect pasta dough as well as how to roll and slice it into noodles. You'll also learn how to make a delicious garlic tomato-sauce & Alfredo sauce to smother your freshly made noodles — a rich and satisfying homemade dish. The eggrolls and samosas are classic appetizers that explode with complex, unique flavors. You’ll make an eclectic assortment of dishes, from sumptuous samosas to delightful egg rolls. Mimi will also teach you how to make zesty and addictive dipping sauces with ginger and mint. The final day you will make the popular Chicken Pad Thai dish whose name means “Thai stir-fry. Your instructor Mimi will help you in recreating this classic known for its diverse flavor profile of sweet, salty, sour and spicy. Perfect for entertaining, wow your friends and family. Finish the class by learning to make Baklava, a traditional pastry dessert that is known for its sweet, rich flavor and flaky texture. We will prepare the Baklava in class for you to take home and bake yourself.All participants will receive a cooking diploma for completing the camp, along with a dessert!   • Advantage ACT Prep Course Summer

    Hats, scarfs, blankets and more! Keep yourself warm this year by learning to make your own hat, scarf or blanket. Students will learn basic skills in beginning knitting and crocheting to create a basic project. Tools and materials for knitting will be provided.

    We will have so much fun decorating summertime themed cupcakes. Each student will bring home 12 boxed cupcakes that they will decorated.
  • Virtual Advantage ACT Prep Class

    This is an excellent alternative for any student unable to attend an in-school class, but still prefers interaction with an experienced instructor from Advantage Educational Programs. The Virtual ACT Prep Course is the same as the In-School ACT Prep Course, but from the comfort of your own home. The instructors teach live via virtual classroom and are available to answer questions when needed. Students will receive an email with login instructions a few days before classes begin.
