  • Raptors Girls Youth Soccer Camp

    Raptors Girls Youth Soccer Camp The camp focuses on teaching individual skills indispensable for success in soccer. Proper fundamental skills are taught as well as advance skills that make playing fun and encourage players to practice on their own. Great opportunity to get to play soccer and get trained by Varsity players and coaching staff from East Ridge Girls High school.     South Washington County school district is the sixth largest district in the state, serving over 18,000 students. Last year, the Community Education Department provided over $85,000 in financial assistance to allow youth in need to participate in an array of quality enrichment programs such as college prep, technology, swim instruction, health and wellness, language and S.T.E.M. courses as well as after school classes and summer sports camps. These programs provide participants with the opportunity to pursue their interests, expand their abilities and improve social skills in a fun and safe environment. Participants are not the only ones who receive positive outcomes from their involvement in Community Education programs. The participant’s family, school and larger community all prosper when people are engaged in consistent, quality learning experiences. If you would like to make a donation to help youth in need to participate in quality learning activities, select the denomination of your choice in the drop-down menu to the right.     Build a picture frame, a race car, catapult and trophy display base. Builders will learn to measure, cut, sand, paint and then take home each project they build. This Youth Enrichment League (YEL) class educates students on the use of basic tools (hammers, nails, screwdriver, measuring tape, t-square and more). SAFETY IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY. No power tools will be used in class.     CHEM Athletics - Character, Hand, Eye, Mind Camp for Beginner Pickleball and Intermediate Tennis

    Join CHEM Athletics for a fun experience learning pickleball. We incorporate our mission of Character, Hand, Eye and Mind, as we offer a skill-intensive program for beginning and intermediate players in pickleball. The goal is to get all players rallying, serving & scoring at every level. Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the US, and students will learn all about the terms of play as well as the fundamentals of the game. Coach is a former tennis pro who competed at the highest level. Weekly awards are given, and the last lesson is family day. Join CHEM Athletics for a fun summer experience learning tennis. We incorporate our mission of Character, Hand, Eye and Mind, as we offer a skill-intensive program for beginners and intermediate level players. Kids will love this fast paced lesson, full of fundamentals of volleying, forehand and backhand ground-strokes, and optimal footwork. Beyond the game, the students will learn sportsmanship, teamwork, and confidence. CHEM Athletics is a leader in youth tennis and development for elementary aged students.   • Spring Young Kids Camp

    Students K-2 will be offered their favorite games and activities. Each session will run for 50 minutes after school. This camp is unique from the many others in that it is an activity camp geared toward younger children. The many games and activities are modified and selected to be appropriate for the younger participant and their skill level. The camp is organized and supervised by a 32 year veteran PE teacher. Optional t-shirts will be available for Young Kids Camp for $10 each; youth small, medium, large and XL. Please contact Mrs. Tester if you would like one.
  • Swim Training 7th grade - adult (This is NOT swim lessons)

    Requirement: Passed Intermediate 2. Offered year round on a monthly basis Swim Training offers ages 10-adult the opportunity to have a consistent fitness program. Whether you are a student that wants to keep in shape between competitive seasons, gain strength to get on a swim team or an adult looking for that old workout you use to get in high school, this is the course for you. Each meeting will have a designated workout according to your ability. Your coach will cover a different topic each meeting day to help you improve in starts, turns or stroke development. Participants are divided into three levels of ability. As you become faster you will move on to a different lane. Participants will follow a circle swimming pattern in the lane they are assigned. 3-6 participants are assigned per lane depending on registration. Registration ends one week in advance. Thereafter a late fee of $5.00 is added to the registration fee. Please call 425-6600 for class availability after online registration ends. Late registrations are taken at the pool for any available class for the first two days.

    CHEM Athletics provides tennis lessons that increase hand-eye coordination while placing an emphasis on character development. Family Day will be the last day of class. Weekly awards will also be given each week. Coach Scott is an ex-tennis professional who played at the highest level of the sport. CHEM stands for Character, Hand, Eye and Mind Youth learn the STARS concept which stands for Safety, Teamwork, Attitude, Responsibility and Sportsmanship.     Ninja Obstacle Training is extremely popular with kids and is a fun, unique way to develop confidence, strength, endurance, balance, and friendships! Athletes benefit from training in agility, power, perseverance, and resilience; attributes that all athletes strive to improve. Our Conquer Rec Team is designed for youth, ages 6-9 of all experience levels. Our Rec Team will practice on real obstacles inspired by the tv show such as warped walls, salmon ladders, tilting ladders and so much more during their weekly practice. Rec Team members will learn the styles and techniques to develop their Ninja Skills with over 40 different obstacles!   • Lifeguard Training

    Participants will pretest with a 300 yard swim,10lb. brick retrieval and 2 minutes of legs only treading water. If participant cannot pass pretest, registration will be refunded minus a $25 processing fee. Course includes whistle and lanyard. Through instructor demonstrations, lectures and videos, students will learn and demonstrate water rescue skills, CPR, AED, and First Aid skills. Students passing skill scenarios and written tests will receive Lifeguard Training and First Aid/CPR/AED for Lifeguard certificates. Must be age 15 by the last day of class.   • Raptor Speed and Strength Summer Program

    In partnership with Training HAUS, Raptor Speed and Strength is designed to take every athlete to the next level! RSS is a comprehensive training program led by Coach Colvard, a 10-year veteran of the field with experience at two Division 1 universities and who has worked with athletes ranging from youth to professionals. Utilizing elite training methodologies, athletes will train in the weight room to increase strength, power, and physical resiliency, and on the turf to improve speed, agility, and conditioning. In addition, a Registered Sports Dietitian will be on site twice over the summer to discuss sports nutrition topics and answer questions the athletes may have! Camp will not meet June 19 or July 1-5. Participants will receive a t-shirt. On the first day, please report to the location specified on your registration. Athletic clothes and appropriate footwear are required (cleats are recommended for turf days but not required); personal water bottles are highly recommended.
