Open Street Mapping is a free, open source, volunteer based digital mapping platform that utilizes up-to-date satellite imagery that allows volunteer mappers all over the world to contribute to updating online maps. OSM has been used for many years to assist on the ground in humanitarian aid efforts. Take this engaging course and learn how you can complete meaningful service work from the comfort of your home, and learn a new skill that will make you part of a global digital mapping community

Leah Marie Hood

Leah Hood is a licensed secondary social studies teacher with 17 years of teaching experience between the middle and high school levels, as well as adult basic education and undergraduate levels. Her specialty areas include human geography, history, and literacy instruction. Most recently she has been sharing her passion for Open Street Mapping, a free program that brings volunteers from all over the world to assist in mapping.
