Learn from one Woodbury family’s discovery of the joys they experienced (and challenges they overcame) as they opened their home to 130 foster dogs over 13 years. Fostering is also a great way to test your family’s readiness to have a dog. Learn best practices, what to expect, unique experiences that are common to rescue dogs, and how to create the best environment for your new pet to thrive! Your heart will be warmed as you hear about their incredibly rewarding experiences. Kids age 10+ may attend free with a parent. The instructor's portion of your class fee is being donated to Coco's Heart Dog Rescue.
Elena Lindemann is a marketing and business development manager involved in sustainability of food and agriculture. She has always loved animals and is proud to say that her ever-patient mother allowed her to have dogs, parakeets, hamsters and seven(!) tanks full of fish. Since 2013, Elena has been volunteering animal rescue organizations and has fostered over 130 dogs. She is passionate about sharing the benefits of adopting and fostering rescue dogs.
Elena is also excited to promote Coco's Heart. Ever since she signed up with them during Covid, it's been a phenomenal experience through puppy mill survivor rehabilitation, whelping (9 litters!), and, yes, even adopting 2 little Poodles. Her family is so committed to this organization that her almost-10 year old daughter is promoting Coco's Heart as this year's Little Miss Woodbury. Instead of being sponsored by a local business to enter the Woodbury Ambassador program, they fundraised for her entrance fee. That has allowed her to proudly promote Coco's Heart and help raise awareness of this organization.
