The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum boasts 40,000 tulips each May! We'll do our best to time this trip for peak viewing. You'll enjoy hopping aboard the tram for a 60 minute narrated riding tour of three-mile drive highlighting our varied collections, display gardents and the Farm at the Arb. The tram has capacity for walkers. Spring also features their wildflowers, daffodil, crab apple trees, azalea bushes as well as hundreds of gorgeous hanging baskets. Included is a casual sandwich lunch(turkey, ham, roast beef or veggie - option for gluten free) as well as chips, an apple, cookie and bottled water presented in a souvenir flowerpot. Bring extra money if you would like to buy things at the gift shop. You'll receive a 10% discount at the gift & garden store. Registration deadline is Friday, April 24.
Plan to board the luxury motor coach at the District Program Center in Cottage Grove at 9:30 a.m. for departure by 9:45 a.m. We'll have time to use restrooms, walk around the main building and lunch will be at 12pm. After lunch we will split into two groups for the tram. You'll have time to walk around the main building and gardens during the time not on the tram tour.
Bus returns by approximately 4:45-5:00 p.m. to Cottage Grove.
Activity level: Medium. Self-paced walking around the grounds. Walkers/canes welcome and will fit on the bus and the tram. Wheelchairs can fit on the bus and tram but we will need to know this at time of registration to make sure we have enough room. Please call Angela at 651-425-6668 if planning to bring a wheelchair. You will need to register someone to accomodate pushing a wheelchair if assistance is needed.
