Engineering: Crazy Action ContraptionsSTEMUnleash your imagination as you journey through the wide-ranging world of LEGO® building. Students working in pairs will build models and discuss the engineering science behind each. This fun, hands-on class shows students how engineering can be fun and silly yet still educational. Students will then be challenged to improve the model and customize their creations. Java Minecraft Modding: Custom ArmorSTEMIn this camp, we will be creating custom armor, items, and blocks. Learn to mod Minecraft using Java and customize your gaming experience. Hogwarts Magical Robotics BuildersSTEMJourney to the magical world of Harry Potter and other fantasy lands. Build and program magical theme projects. Young imaginations soar! Students will be taught foundational building and introduced to programming concepts with learning about sensors, motors, and special technics components using the Lego Wedo Systems. 3D Engineering: Architectural & Structural DesignSTEMBring your imagination to life. Become a master bricklayer and use our special architectural LEGO® kits to build your creations. Be an architect as you learn the principles of construction. The main goal of the course is to introduce the concept of 3 dimensions and its role in design. Working in teams, students will construct buildings, structures, towers, castles, and more. Students will learn construction principles and use math skills as they experiment with scale and size, staggering vs. stacking bricks, and more. We’ll build houses with removable roofs, castles with turrets, and towers of strength! It might just be impossible to exhaust the creative potential of LEGO® bricks.Summer 2022

Extreme EV3: RoboWarsSTEMExciting class with new builds and challenges! Take your engineering skills to a higher level. Students will be using the EV3 Mindstorm Robotics Systems and unique LEGO® Technic™ engineering components to build extreme, competitive robots. Build remote-controlled robots inspired by the popular Discovery Channel’s “BattleBots.” Students will be challenged to morph their projects into better, stronger, and faster robots to compete in a tournament on the last day. Video Production for YouTubeSTEMLearn how to create YouTube content! Shoot videos, edit sound, and create an online presence with YouTube. In the first half of camp, learn the tricks that pro filmmakers use for better shots, lighting, sounds and learn to use our film editing software. Then in the second half of camp, students can choose to work on an unboxing or product review video of their own. Write a script, edit your video, add transitions, insert a soundtrack. Then share your finished video with the world. Bring a USB drive (at least 8GB) to save your video on the last day.Summer 2022

Starting SoonJr Engineering and BuildingSTEMIf a learner likes building things and figuring out how things work, they will love this class. Join us as we explore, investigate, and solve problems while learning about simple machines’ engineering building blocks. Students working in pairs will enjoy hands-on activities using LEGO® Gears and special LEGO® Technic® engineering components that incorporate math, science, and creativity. Students will work through building models that demonstrate mechanical and physical engineering. They will then use what they learned to solve challenges. Learning projects may include mini mechanical concept models, a moving dragon, scale, clown, crane, car, fan, merry-go-round, and more.Summer 2022

Star Wars Jedi Movie MakingSTEMFrom a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars comes to life! Work on a stop-motion animated LEGO® Star Wars movie. Star Wars action figures, LEGOs, and backdrops will be available for filming in class. Handle all the technical details, including using a digital movie camera, filming scenes, doing stop-motion animation, digital editing, adding finishing touches, special effects, and transitions to the movie. Starting SoonExtreme EV3: BattlebotsSTEMThis camp will energize and excite students by combining the LEGO building system’s versatility and the Mindstorms EV3 (the most sophisticated microcomputer brick ever made by LEGO). Working each day in teams, students will construct fun LEGO models, experiment with programs, and compete in robotic challenges. Robot building, block programming, and teamwork will be part of each day’s activities. Final challenges will be centered around hitting targets and a sumo battle.
