  • Self-Paced Online Advantage ACT Prep Course

    www.AdvantagePrep.net For the past 26 years, Advantage Educational Programs has benefited thousands of students in Minnesota by preparing them for the college entrance exams.Beginning soon, the Advantage will once again present its ACT Preparatory Course in more than forty high schools in Minneapolis/St. Paul and the surrounding area. This course is an excellent alternative for any student unable to attend in-school classes or a student preferring to prepare for the ACT exam on their own and at their desired pace. Once enrolled, students are sent an access code for their class via email. The fee for this course is $60. Students who have previously paid for the In-School ACT Prep Course can participate in the online course at NO CHARGE.     Help your child maintain reading and math skills this summer. Community Education has arranged for interested families to participate in a program called GRASP (Grand Rapids Academic Summer Program). GRASP is a 9 week correspondence program for grades K to 8 which helps students maintain skills while they are on summer vacation. It should take your child approximately one hour per week to complete each weekly lesson. Lessons are completed, mailed to the scoring center where they are analyzed and then returned to you. Instruction sheets found in each packet provide all the necessary information. We suggest parents order the grade level just completed. If there are extenuating circumstances, order the level that is appropriate for your child. At the end of May, a packet containing a workbook, answer sheets, instructions, and pre-addressed envelopes will be sent to your child at school to bring home in their backpack. Registration deadline April 26th. IMPORTANT NOTE: Changes cannot be made once we receive your registration. Please list name of the Elementary School in South Washington County this student currently attends. Or supply a mailing address for non-district and grade 6 - 8 participants.

    Middle School Track

    The Community Education Middle School Athletics Program provides 6th, 7th and 8th grade students an opportunity to participate in a variety of seasonal sports activities. These programs emphasize skill development and team play. Students are instructed in the fundamentals of the sport and will participate in a few meets within District #833 (possibly outside of the district as well, but nearby). Track will run from April 8 to May 16, 2024. Cost: $165 **CGMS/OMS student athletes will combine and form a team that will practice at CGMS each day. LMS/WMS student athletes will also combine to form a team and will practice at LMS each day. Practices will run Monday through Thursday each week from 2:45-4:30pm. Due to a national bus driver shortage, there will be NO TRANSPORTATION this year for track. Parents will need to transport students to and from practices and meets. All participants MUST have a sports physical on file at their respective school's health office. Physicals are good for three years.   • Spring Young Kids Camp

    Students K-2 will be offered their favorite games and activities. Each session will run for 50 minutes after school. This camp is unique from the many others in that it is an activity camp geared toward younger children. The many games and activities are modified and selected to be appropriate for the younger participant and their skill level. The camp is organized and supervised by a 32 year veteran PE teacher. Optional t-shirts will be available for Young Kids Camp for $10 each; youth small, medium, large and XL. Please contact Mrs. Tester if you would like one.

    This camp is for all 5th-7th grade students in the Park High School boundaries, that are not already on the Park Tennis team. It's designed to teach the fundamentals of tennis along with fun games! This camp is intended to get more students introduced and excited to this wonderful sport and hoping that they will join Park Tennis as a 7th grader. We will not be having any rain dates available for this camp, if we need to cancel any sessions due to weather. That is why the cost is so reasonable.
