Students will design 3D objects using TinkerCAD (an online web app), and use the 3D slicing program Cura to bring their creations to life. This course serves as an excellent introduction to 3D printing and is ideal for students who like to draw, design, imagine and see their creations come to life. Students will be designing 1-2 objects, and the 3D print will be mailed home. No experience is necessary, but familiarity with doing common tasks using a computer and keyboarding is required. Fees listed include printing fee for one project.     Spend the day immersed in the beauty and history of Swedish culture. We'll begin with a stop at Ingebretsen's Scandinavian Center to shop for gifts and admire the craftsmanship of Scandinavian imports. Then we'll arrive at the Swedish Institute for lunch and a tour of the Turnblad Mansion. Enjoy a traditional Swedish Smorgasbord buffet for lunch, then tour the exquisite 33-room mansion, including detailed wood carvings, sculpted ceilings and hand-crafted Swedish tile stoves. We'll be visiting at the perfect time when the Mansion is decorated for the holidays. Bus will load at the District Program Center (DPC) in Cottage Grove at 9:00 a.m. and leave promptly at 9:15 a.m. Bus returns by 2:30 p.m. to the DPC.

    Advanced & Swimmer

    This course for ages 8-14 who have progressed to the Advanced or Swimmer course. Participant must be able to swim Front Crawl and Back stroke 50 yards, Elementary Backstroke and Sidestroke 25 yards, and Breaststroke 15 yards. Must be able to tread water 1 minute 30 seconds.     Looking for stronger shoulders & arms? Want a more toned core? This class will do just that. Using body weight and dumb bells you will tone everything from your hips up! Arms and abs will start with a short cardio warm up, move into a wide variety of exercises concentrating on arm, shoulders and abs including light cardio segments, and end with a cool down. Come! Work on getting amazing arms and fabulous abs. Please bring your own dumb bells (suggested 3-15 lbs depending on fitness level) and a mat for this workout. There may be times when this class is offered earlier and recorded to be shared with those who are not able to attend, so that class will not have to be cancelled due to scheduling conflicts.
