Are you interested in our competitive team program? We are starting a new Training Team group and have openings to start with the May session!
Training Team Tryout: Friday, April 10th 6:45-7:45 Requirements: Open to any student who has an interest in future competition, and meets the below criteria: - ages 5-9 - is in level 2, 3 or 4 (plus level 1's who have a good cartwheel and handstand). - is ready to make a year-round commitment to the program. Training Team practices 2x/week for 3 hours each practice. May: Wed/Fri 4:30-7:30 Summer: Mon/Wed evenings (time TBD)
What we look for in Training Team and Competitive Team athletes: - coachable (is able to listen, follow directions and make corrections) - willing to try new things and work through fears - respects their coaches, teammates and the gym - positive attitude - LOVES gymnastics and spending time in the gym
At the Tryout we will be doing the following: - basic tumbling - bars and beam: very basic skills - testing strength: push-ups, chin-ups, leg lifts, etc - testing flexibility: splits and bridges
