    The Random Runners is a mixed group of men and women at a variety of levels from experienced to relatively new. Whether you are a competitive athlete, long-time runner or are new to a running/jogging routine or want to come walk ... please join us! Park High School Activity Center track is an excellent place for you to come in out of the cold, snow and ice and get some movement in with us! Plus, you'll meet fellow runners or walkers! For those interested, we'll post some speed work and strength suggestions on the board. Others may choose to simply come and run or walk. Please bring a towel or mat if you want to do my floor exercises and water. Designed for adults age 15 and up. Parent and child (ages 12 - 14) may register with a discount. Please note participants must enter through Activity Doors on November 7th, due to the election.

  • Yoga - Level 1 (Cottage Grove) In-person

    This flow-style class uses a series of yoga poses to warm up the body, while encouraging awareness in connecting breath to movement. Basic yoga poses are utilized to build muscle strength and improve flexibility. Modifications offered as needed to allow students to “individualize” their practice. Note: Some previous yoga experience is helpful but not required. Please bring your own yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing.
  • Arms & Abs - Tuesday Mornings (Online)

    Looking for stronger shoulders & arms? Want a more toned core? This class will do just that. Using body weight and dumb bells you will tone everything from your hips up! Arms and abs will start with a short cardio warm up, move into a wide variety of exercises concentrating on arm, shoulders and abs including light cardio segments, and end with a cool down. Come! Work on getting amazing arms and fabulous abs. Please bring your own dumb bells (suggested 3-15 lbs depending on fitness level) and a mat for this workout. There may be times when this class is offered earlier and recorded to be shared with those who are not able to attend, so that class will not have to be cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. Your class confirmation email will include information on how you access this class online once the class has met the minimum enrollment.   • EMOM: Every Minute on the Minute - Thursday Mornings (Online)

    60 seconds will fly by! You complete an exercise(s) for a designated number of reps that you chose. Your work time is 60 seconds. The remaining time within the minute serves as your recovery. You pick your reps and how long you get to rest. EMOM workouts are a great training tool. You will develop strength, muscle, endurance and overall workout capacity. Please bring your own dumb bells (suggested 3-15 lbs depending on fitness level) and a mat for this workout. There may be times when this class is offered earlier and recorded so that class will not have to be cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. Your class confirmation email will include information on how you access this class online once the class has met the minimum enrollment.   • The Feldenkrais Method (Daytime Online Class) - TRY IT FREE MORNING CLASS!

    Try one morning of this multiple session class for free! The Feldenkrais Method (R) utilizes the extraordinary power of the brain and nervous system to quickly improve functioning and comfort! You will be verbally guided through a sequence of movements. Enjoy improved posture, flexibility, relief from tension, reduced pain and stress; and explore easy-to-do sequences which can improve every area of the body. This class is free, but we ask that you register to reserve your space. Online Format: Our online platform will be Zoom. All you need is a computer, smart phone or tablet. After you register, you will receive the link. If you have never attended an online webinar, this will be a great opportunity for you. To make things even easier, we will also send you a tip sheet for attending online meetings and classes. You must enroll in this virtual class at least one day prior to the start time of the class to receive the Zoom link.
  • Chisel - Saturday Morning

    Start your weekend off with a great workout! Tired of the same old workout routine? Looking for a class to tone your body and burn lots of calories? Try Chisel! This fun class alternates between cardio and strength training and targets all major muscle groups. A wide variety of moves keeps it interesting! Class meets upstairs on the Activity Center Track at Park High School. There may be times when this class is offered earlier and recorded to be shared with those who are not able to attend, so that class will not have to be cancelled due to scheduling conflicts.
  • Zumba

    Zumba®? is a dance-based fitness class incorporating Latin, Hip-hop, Pop and International rhythms. Each class is staged in intervals designed to get your heart pumping and make you sweat! There's no right or wrong moves in Zumba - just keep your feet moving - and you're guaranteed to sweat, burn tons of calories and leave the class wanting more!
  • Yoga – Level 1 (Prerecorded for Your Convenience)

    A recorded-only class will be sent to you each week via email to watch and practice at your convenience. It will be similar to the online class, but with no Live Zoom meeting to join. This class is a flow-style yoga class, using poses to warm up the body and match breath to movement. It provides opportunities for strengthening and stretching. Many modifications are offered so you can tailor the practice to your own body. It is recommended that you have some previous yoga experience, only because you are practicing at home on your own. Use a yoga mat. Yoga blocks are also recommended but not required. Participants will receive a recording of the current Online Yoga Level 1 class, for that week, on or by Tuesday afternoon. Recordings are typically available for 2 weeks or so after you receive them and you can view them more than once.
  • 30/30 Zumba (Includes Zumba Toning)

    Join us for this hybrid class that combines 30 minutes of Zumba® Fitness followed by 30 minutes of Zumba Toning. It features dance-fitness movements inspired by Latin, international and pop/hip hop music meant to get your heart rate up and warm up your muscles. Then, Zumba Toning incorporates weighted toning sticks or light hand weights (no more than 3lbs each)to your Zumba workout. They function like dumbbells and act as resistance weights to help you tone and sculpt your muscles. Note: You must provide your own weights/toning sticks for class

    Find your inner rock star with this heart-pounding, cardio jam session! This all-ages workout is designed to work your core and scorch calories! Using lightly-weighted drumsticks, the class is guided by upbeat music and upwards of 15,000 stick strikes to the ground and overhead! Get ready to sweat, tone and more importantly rock out to POUND! Age 10 and up welcome to register with a parent. Age 15 and up can register alone.

Gentle Therapeutic Yoga is accessible to all levels while still giving you the opportunity to learn the foundations of the physical practice, our nervous system, and tools to enhance our ability to stay regulated and balanced. Yoga is increasingly being used in a variety of settings as an integrative approach to wellness. In yoga, the use of breath and mindful movements helps our nervous system release stress, strengthens our body, quiets the mind, and has a diverse range of health benefits. Join us to strengthen your body, rebalance your nervous system, and experience deep relaxation and the power of breath. Class includes a mind/body theme and a grounding and gentle physical practice. It is also a great class to repeat as desired to reset and to deepen learning of foundational concepts. Please note that classes will meet in the Bailey Commons except class will be moved to room 181 on February 15 (due to book fair being held in the commons).

It is helpful, though not required, to have taken the Foundations class.This Level 2 class is recommended for those looking to continue to build strength in physical body and in the ability to practice nervous system flexibility by engaging our ability to rise to challenge, as well as allowing truly restorative relaxation. We will continue to build on breath practices, mindful-based movement, with optional advancements in the physical practice. Please note that classes will meet in the Bailey Commons except class will be moved to room 181 on February 21 (due to book fairs being held in the commons).
